When Rock Hudson was revealed as having AIDS, I personally think it really put the crisis into another level of fear. Personally, the friends in my life whom I've lost, some thought if a rich celebrity couldn't overcome and beat AIDS...they wouldn't stand a chance. I'm not sure how long it took Reagan to say AIDS, regardless that Administration dropped the ball in a huge way!

All on the family was the show ever. Archie was against everyone. No filter. It was a comedy and everyone got it. Now people are offended by everything but profanity

I love how the it took the studio audience a few seconds to figure out what Archie meant when he said "and I ain't seen nothing else" when he was talking about how he didn't see any indication Stretch was Jewish.

I tend to side with Republicans more in terms of political idealogy, but I will say that it was despicable for Ronald Reagan to basically ignore the AIDS epidemic until he was basically out of office. Regardless of whether you agree with or condone gay lifestyles, gay people and those with AIDS stricken through other ways, are human beings, Americans, and tax payers who deserved complete support from our government. A lot of lives may have been saved had the Reagan administration been more proactive about the virus.

Oh boy! That Archie Bunker was something else, man! Anyway, Shalom.

They just don’t write comedy like this anymore. I can hardly contain myself through the laughter. This could never be made today which is a sad commentary for our pitiful societal today.

Despite all the comedy that this show, it’s writers, it’s actors, producers, etc., had and fore headed, it had some of the most serious drama episodes of all time. Cut straight through the heart it did. Loved it. Probably my most favorite tv series of all time. 62 yrs here.

Archie had his flaws. But at his core, he was a good hearted person. As most of us are, I'd like to think.

I love how Carroll O'Connor leaves you gasping with all the awkwardly delivered humor, and once you think you can't stand any more, he delivers truly kind, tender and heartfelt words with some of the best dramatic acting that ANYONE could deliver! A master actor! You could SEE Archie's pain and sadness in losing his dear friend as O'Connor paused and at long last with great emotion delivered his parting "shalom" to Stretch.
